Charlotte Gainsbourg, Dan Stevens, Isaach De Bankole and Israel’s Lior Ashkenazi have also joined the cast.
Production will kick off next week in New York and Israel. Joseph Cedar is directing.
Gere plays the titular character whose life dramatically changes after the young politician he befriended during a dark period in his life becomes an influential world leader.
Cedar penned the script.
