Sony’s found their new horror franchise by looks

Sony Pictures’ “Escape Room” made enough dough during its theatrical run in January to warrant a sequel, it seems.

The studio has dated a sequel for April 17, 2020. Adam Robitel returns to direct, with writer Bragi F.Schut and producer Neal J.Mortiz also reprising their roles. No word on whether any of the cast from the original – which included Deborah Ann Woll, Jay Ellis, and Tyler Labine – will be back for seconds.

The original, priced at $9 million, made $118 million worldwide – that’s a sumly profit!
