Stewart pitching a Star Trek : The Next Generation movie

One that would wrap up the adventures of the ‘Picard’ crew

Paramount

Not surprising if it is true, considering the mad crazy bonkers excitement for that triumphant third season of ”Star Trek : Picard” on Paramount+ this year, but an new report suggests that franchise staple Patrick Stewart is courting the studio to greenlight a Picard-skewed big screen venture.

Stewart, of course, played Jean-Luc Picard not only on the small screen but in several big screen adventures, beginning with 1995’s Star Trek : Generations. The 82-year-old wants this next movie to be the swansong movie for Picard and his ”Next Generation” crew.

He told Indiewire that the movie would be less a “Star Trek : Picard” movie and more a “Star Trek : The Next Generation” movie.

“I think we could do a movie, a ‘Picard’-based movie.’ Now not necessarily at all about Picard but about all of us. And to take many of those wonderful elements, particularly from Season 3 of ‘Picard’ and take out of that what I think could be an extraordinary movie. I keep telling people and mentioning it, and so far there’s been no eager response, but it might well happen. And that would be I think a very appropriate way to say, ‘And goodbye folks.’

A new Star Trek movie, of any shape or form, has been a long time coming and by all accounts, Paramount is struggling to pull the trigger on one-  maybe this is the way to go?
