Peter Capaldi’s Leonardo da Vinci doco has been snapped up by Submarine Deluxe.
Submarine has landed the US rights to dramatised documentary “Inside the Mind of Leonardo in 3D” and plans to release the film in New York on October 17 before rolling it out to the rest of the country.
Nick Dear penned the script for Julian Jones to direct. History Films is producing.
From his birth as a bastard peasant to his life as an adult, the film is based on da Vinci’s private journals from the Italian Renaissance. More than 6,000 pages exist with notes and drawings penned by the infamous polymath, looking at everything from his thwarted ambitions, hurt, and sexual desire to his shopping lists, health tips and bawdy jokes.
