The Hunger Games theme park anyone?

Could the ‘Hunger Games’ become even bigger than the Harry Potter movement, which ruled the past decade or so? Well it certainly seems to be heading that way.

According to Variety, Hunger Games theme-parks could be the next big thing in the film empire.

Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer made the assertion during a conference call on Friday. He said that the company had been approach about Huger Games theme-parks in two territories. He also said he was considering the idea but did not elaborate further.

The Hunger Games franchise, which began in 2008 in the form of a novel by US author Suzanne Collins, has swept the globe. The first film made over $690 million and the next instalment, ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’, is expected to break box office records.

‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ is set for Australian release on November 21.
