The Mummy sequel to bring back original actors

Brendan Fraser last played Rick O’Connell in “The Mummy : Tomb of the Dragon Emperor”

With Brendan Fraser said to be back in the camel’s saddle a reboot of ’90s classic The Mummy, it’s a given some of his old co-stars might be be asked to join the Oscar winning actor for Rick O’Connell’s surprise return.

According to the oft-reliable Giant Freakin Robot site, The Whale star will be joined on screen by Oded Fehr (Ardeth Bay) and John Hannah (Jonathan) from the previous instalments.

Rachel Weisz who played the role of Fraser’s on-screen wife Evie in the original two films – Maria Bello took over for the third – will also be back, as will Dwayne Johnson’s Scorpion King.

Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah (Bad Boys For Life) will direct the new Mummy movie, the duo recently worked with Fraser on the (now never-gonna-see-the-light-of-day) Batgirl movie.
