Another 80’s horror movie getting remade?

One of the best vampire flicks ever, and one truly underrated 80’s classic, “Near Dark” (1987) is getting the ever-so-unnecessary remake treatment, according to Dread Central
Rogue Pictures have tapped Amy Kaufman and David Bixler to produce the retool of the film, with a writer yet to be hired.
The original film, starring Adrian Pasdar, Bill Paxton and Lance Henriksen, centered on an innocent country boy, Caleb Colton (Pasdar) whose seduced by a beautiful girl (Jenny Wright) into joining a roving pack of vicious drifters – who later turn out to be vampires – led by the enigmatic Jesse (Henriksen). The film was directed by Kathryn Bigelow.
