The Spirit has Scarlett Fever

Woody Allen’s go-to-girl snags Silk N.Foss role

If you’re an A-list actor and you haven’t done or haven’t gotten yourself attached to a comic-book movie, you might as well give up the game now – because it’s the superhero stuff that’s going down better than bloody Mary’s on a Saturday evening in Tinseltown right now. Not being in one, is like dodging the powder room at P Diddy’s party – it’s just not the right thing to do.

Hot on the heels of Gwneth Paltrow selling her soul to the ink-cum-film effort “Iron Man” comes word from the trades that voluptuous Scarlett Johansson – feel kinda dirty drooling over her in “The Horse Whisperer” – has inked a deal to make her crossover into a comic film – she’ll play the leading lass in the Frank Miller directed ‘’The Spirit’’.

It means nothing to me, but fans of the comic will be interested, no doubt, to hear that she’s playing the character Silk N.Foss, a sexy and intelligent secretary that joins forces with the villainous Octopus (Samuel L.Jackson). “Because I Said So” victim Gabriel Macht plays the hero in it –no doubt he’ll be tempted to wrestle with his leading lady at one point or another in the movie.

Miller found it pretty easy to convince the foxy actress to jump aboard – the film – because she’s keen to get herself attached to a few movies before the strike (you know about that right? There’s a strike coming!) happens and is then forced to model Lingerie for Target for six months to pay the bills. (Hooters might be better).

Woody Allen’s go-to-girl has also gone and got herself attached to the ensemble comedy ‘’He’s Just Not That into You’’ and ‘’Mary Queen of Scots,’’ which she committed to a while back.

You’ll notice quite a few big name actors and actresses signing up for multiple projects at the moment – all frightened of the impending work stoppage. The only person it isn’t really going to affect is, well, Pauly Shore.
