There will be more Dick for Beatty; meantime, he’s headed back to Melrose

A couple of weeks ago Warren Beatty, 74, announced he’ll be returning to filmmaking with a “Dick Tracy” sequel. The star of such classics as “Bonnie & Clyde” and “Bugsy” says he doesn’t have a time-frame in mind, only that he’s in the early stages of developing the follow-up to the 1990 hit.

Before he dons the yellow coat again, Beatty looks to star in, write, produce and direct a new film for Paramount. The actor of course worked with the shingle on “Heaven Can Wait” and “Reds”.

”Warren’s script is quintessential Beatty, elegantly written and wonderfully entertaining” said Paramount chairman and CEO Brad Grey, quotes The Hollywood Reporter. “It is our privilege to have one of the great artists in the history of the film industry come home to Paramount.”

The film is scheduled to go into production later this year.
