Glenn Powell, whose standout 2022 can be attributed to fantastic turns in the blockbuster Top Gun : Maverick and the critically acclaimed Devotion, is said to be in talks to play the male lead in Twisters, Universal’s sequel to 1996 hit Twisters.
Though it was originally intended to feature returning characters from the first film – namely Helen Hunt’s Dr. Jo Harding, with the main character being her offspring with on-screen husband (the late) Bill Paxton – latest reports suggest the film will now be a complete stand alone without any links to previous events.
Lee Isaac Chung directs the pic, penned by The Revenant’s Mark L. Smith, releasing July 19, 2024.
