In “Orphan”, Peter Sarsgaard (“Shattered Glass”, “Garden State”) and Vera Farmiga (“The Departed”, “Running Scared”) play Kate and John Coleman, a dysfunctional couple who decide to adopt a child as a hopeful way to bring some joy and normalcy into their lives.
