When WikiLeaks released video of the 2007 Baghdad airstrike by US army helicopters – which killed two Reuters journalists – it instantly changed the public’s perception of the right to information in democratic societies. The mastermind behind WikiLeaks is hacker/activist Julian Assange, who is currently holed up in the Ecuadorian embassy in London to avoid extradition.
”We Steal Secrets: The Story of WikiLeaks” is a documentary from Oscar-winning director Alex Gibney that intimately examines the world of Julian Assange, WikiLeaks and the fascinating debates they have sparked.
