Clue : It ain’t Robert Patrick’s T-1000
Doesn’t sound like many of the characters from the original “Terminator” films, bar John Connor, will return for the new installment “Terminator Salvation : The Future Begins” – which is a pity because I think we’d love all to see Kyle Reese (Michael Biehn) and Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) again. Yeah, I know, they’re dead.. but remember that old ‘time travel’ thing? – but today there’s news on one particular character who will be returning to do battle with the machines.
“Terminator 3 : Rise of the Machines”‘ Kate Brewster, played by Clare Danes in the last “T” film, is set to do battle alongside her rebellious love-monkey, John, again here.
Danes has previously said she won’t be back for the new movie – even though she’d assumingly be the right age to play the role, right? – so looks like they’ll be recasting that role, just as they’ve done with Connor (Nick Stahl played the part in “Machines”).
According to Bloody Disgusting, “T4” will see “John Connor (Christian Bale), now in his 30’s and soon to be wife Kate Brewster realize they must create a resistance organization with Earth’s remaining survivors against the army of robots slowly being built up by Skynet. As they are building this resistance, one survivor happens to be a traitor in disguise, and has a secret that nobody would ever come to suspect.”
So assumingly that ‘traitor’ character is the one that the producers are referring to in the interview they did with Entertainment Weekly this week? They stated that they’ve got an a reasonably big name locked in for the part. Let the guessing begin..
