Who was originally set to direct Justice League?

And a casting rumour for The Green Lantern

David Slade, director of the upcoming “30 Days of Night”, revealed to IESB that he was originally set to direct “Justice League” (and yes, that’s the full title for the film – no “Of America”).

Alas, the studio weren’t as confident as they were with Slade, as they are now George Miller, and so after three weeks of developing the superhero pic, Slade was let go. It wasn’t so much that Slade couldn’t cut it, it was that the budget for the film was spiralling towards the $160 million dollar range and Warners needed a safer bet so went with Miller, who was responsible for all the Christmas bonuses last year via “Happy Feet”. Guess it makes sense. Though, I gotta say, I still don’t think “Justice League” is a very ‘George Miller’ like movie.

In addition, IESB reports that Clifford Joseph Harris Jr. aka T.I. (“American Gangster”) has read for the role of The Green Lantern. No word if he’s got it, or is even in the running, but he’s read.
