Will Smith in talks for Ridley Scott’s football concussion pic

While the film is set within the context of the NFL, it’s safe to say it addresses an issue that is currently being looked at by officials of sporting codes across the globe; concussion.
Will Smith is in talks to star in Scott Free and Sony’s untitled NFL concussion pic, a film that is based on a GQ article written by Jeanne Marie Laskas titled “Game Brain”, Variety reports.
The article centres on Dr. Bennet Omalu, a doctor of neuropathology who first discovered CTE in a professional football player and strove to raise awareness of it amongst the public.
Peter Landesman will write and direct the film which will see Scott Free’s Giannina Facio, Ridley Scott and Michael Schaefer produce with the Shuman Company’s David Wolthoff and Larry Shuman.
Should Smith take on the role, he would play Dr. Omalu.
For now, you can next catch the star opposite Margot Robbie in Warner Bros’ “Focus”.
