Despite some negative reviews, “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” has raked in a massive $424.1 million at the worldwide box office upon opening.
Broken down, that came from $254 million accross international markets plus $170.1 million in North America.
Internationally, “Batman v Superman” boasts the biggest superhero opening weekend in history, the all-time biggest March opening and Warner Bros.’ second-biggest international opening of all time (behind “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2”).
China, the UK, Brazil, Korea and Australia were among some of the biggest earners overseas.
In the US, where it earned $170.1 mil (updated: 166.1 mil), “Batman v Superman” beat “The Hunger Games‘” previous record for best pre-summer opening of $152.5 million. It lays claim to the largest Easter opening, the largest opening for a DC film, and the biggest March opening ever.
