The long-gestating sequel to Brad Pitt zombie flick “World War Z” looks to be finally inching before the Nikon.
Speaking to Variety (see below), producers Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner have confirmed that director David Fincher remains attached to the film with Brad Pitt also a lock to reprise his role as Gerry Lane.
At this stage, the film – originally due to shoot this Summer – will begin lensing next Summer, more precisely June 2019.
As per previous reports, Fincher’s been working on the script with Dennis Kelly. The famed filmmaker also has his hands full with Netflix’s “Mindhunter”, while Pitt’s busy shooting Quentin Tarantino’s latest, “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood”, so even if the script was ready, the main players wouldn’t be.
See you next June, walking dead.
