ABC Family resurrect The Hand That Rocks The Cradle

ABC Family has greenlight a small-screen take on ’90s thriller “The Hand That Rocks the Cradle”, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Suggesting the network is headed in a ‘darker’ direction, the youth-skewed channel is bringing the battle between the nutty, psychotic babysitter (played in the film by Rebecca DeMornay) and the distressed, protective mother (played by Annabella Sciorra) to life in a Daniel Loflin (“Supernatural”) written/executive-produced series, hailing from Radar Pictures.
Radar’s Ted Field executive produced the original 1992 film, which grossed some 80 odd million at the box-office.

Earlier this year ABC Family greenlit the similar-toned “Final Girls”, a horror/thriller starring genre icon Jamie Lee Curtis.
