Hairspray director to helm Enchanted sequel

“Hairspray” director Adam Shankman is in negotiations to direct Disney’s “Disenchanted”, reports THR.

The sequel to the studio’s 2007 fantasy “Enchanted” will likely lens next year.

“Enchanted” starred Amy Adams as Giselle, a prototypical Disney princess who is thrust into the real world. James Marsden, Patrick Dempsey, Idina Menzel and Susan Sarandon co-starred.

Adams is expected to return for the sequel which is said to be set 10 years after the original.
