Alden Ehrenreich reprising Han Solo for Filoni’s Star Wars movie!?

And that’s not all…

The likelihood of a new actor playing Luke Skywalker in the near future is looking more and more likely by the day with reports now emerging that a new Star Wars film is bringing back Han Solo and Princess Leia.

The untitled film, says Giant Freakin Robot, will reportedly see Alden Ehrenreich reprise the title character of Solo from the 2018 prequel film while a new actress is being sought to fill the shoes of the late Carrie Fisher as Leia Organa.

With Han and Leia both in the film it’s almost a given Luke Sywalker will make an appearance too – and there’s no chance Lucasfilm and Disney will recruit Mark Hamill to play the role as young Luke, complete with all that gunky CGI de-aging stuff again.

The new film, the directorial debut of SW staple Dave Filoni, is said to be set in the New Republic era – between the original trilogy and the more recent sequel trilogy.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly in April, Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau suggested this will be The Avengers : Infinity Wars of Star Wars movies, hinting we’ll see characters from every inch of the Galaxy coming together for the pic. Filoni said it’s “a clamoring of characters saying, ‘How do I get in this picture?’ And that’s what Jon [Favreau] and I have been figuring out.”
