Ali re-released in cinemas this Friday

Sony is re-releasing “Ali” in theaters on Friday – to coincide with the sad passing of Muhammad Ali, whose memorial service will actually be held the same day.

Sony’s President of Worldwide Distribution, Rory Bruer, said that the shingle had been inundated with requests since Ali’s passing from those wishing to see Michael Mann’s acclaimed drama back on screens.

Bruer said : “The film truly honors everything that made Ali one of the central figures of our time, a man who commanded his sport but whose personal faith and principles made him mean so much more. Muhammad Ali truly was The Greatest, and this tribute is a great way to honor him.”

Will Smith, who will serve as a pallbearer at Ali’s memorial, received an Oscar nomination for his role as Ali in the 2001 film.

On June 26 Game of Thrones will air it’s longest episode ever!
