Caffeinated Clint
Hot on the heels of those casting rumours for the new live-action Spidey, Sony’s Tom Rothman announced at CinemaCon today that the shingle are also doing an all-animated “Spider-Man” movie with “Lego Movie” directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller.
Lord and Miller – who Sony have been trying to lure for a while now, at one stage they even wanted them to head up their animation department – will write the treatment and produce the new film, which is due in theaters July 20, 2018.
The film will exist independently of the projects in the live-action Spider-Man universe, according to the studio.
Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach and Amy Pascal will produce the film, which will come second to director Drew Goddard’s live-action “Spider-Man” movie.
