Constantine

The movie to me was a fairly decent ride with some decent special effects thrown in.

Keanu is always going to be Keanu, so don’t ask for much more than what he can do as an actor. Also know that he has a great cast behind him that will make him look better while he’s on the screen. One of them is Rachel Weisz, whose very good performance makes this movie a much better film that I think it needed to be and the next is Djmon Hounsou, whose brief appearance as a Shaman who owns a club that is populated by half breed demons and angels is a real treat to see. Tilda Swinton and Gavin Rossdale do well as celestial beings from heaven and hell and Shia LaBeouf even does a good job here and that’s really says something because he can get on your last nerve if he’s playing the usual part he always plays.

The story is ok and it does have it’s moments but certain things don’t come together well and Keanu’s character is not really the type of guy that you would want to hang around with for a whole film.

It’s a good movie and it does do it’s job but I give that credit more to Rachel Weisz and the solid supporting players more than I give it to Keanu Reeves.
