Director Nikolaj Arcel, whose film “A Royal Affair” impressed both the critical and film going community, is said to be close to signing on as the new director of the long-gestating “Dark Tower” movie, says EW.
Ron Howard was previously set to direct the Sony project.
If he signs, Arcel will likely rewrite the latest draft of the script which was penned by Jeff Pinkner and Avika Goldmsan.
Sony are said to be still keen on doing multiple sequels and a TV series spin-off of the film, as was the case when Howard was onboard.
