Archer to end after 10 seasons

FX’s animated series “Archer” will likely end after it’s 10th season, revealed creator Adam Reed.

Speaking on the “Murmur” podcast from the Modern School of Film, Reed said “the plan is to end ‘Archer’ after Season 10” (via Variety).

“I don’t know that anybody has talked about that, but that is definitely my plan, is to do eight, nine, and 10 — and they’re gonna be each shorter seasons of just eight episodes — and then wind it up.”

Despite initially planning to end the show after eight seasons, Reed said he had a creative “brain explosion” that prompted the extra couple of seasons.

“So the three seasons that are coming up are going to be pretty different from what’s come before, and they’re going to be different from each other,” he said.

In the show, H. Jon Benjamin voices private detective and former spy Sterling Archer, with co-voice stars Aisha Tyler, Jessica Walter, Chris Parnell, Judy Greer, Amber Nash, Adam Reed and Lucky Yates.
