Australian YouTubers to direct Street Fighter movie

Based on the video game of the same name from Capcom, this is the third live-action version of the pic

Australian YouTube sensations Danny and Michael Philippou aka RackaTacka are in final negotiations to direct Legendary’s new Street Fighter movie.

Based on the video game of the same name from Capcom, the project is yet another feather in the cap for the filmmaking brothers whose horror film Talk to Me was one of the highlights of Sundance.

Per THR, who have the scoop, writers are currently auditioning for the role of scripters.

A 1994 film based on the property, starring Jean-Claude Van Damme and Kylie Minogue, was a critical and commercial bomb. The 2009 adaptation, Street Fighter : The Legend of Chun-Li, released in 2009, didn’t fare any better.
