Back to the Future reboot, anyone?

While Hollywood’s content on remaking anything and everything else, seems there’s still two films considered no-go zones. Both are Spielberg productions.

In an interview with Yahoo! Movies for “Jason Bourne” (on Digital, DVD and Blu-ray), veteran producer Frank Marshall was asked whether or not we might see a remake of beloved blockbuster “Back to the Future”.

“Yeah [we won’t reboot Back to The Future], as long as I have my say. No, that one exists just like E.T. – we’re never touching those. I love watching it.”

While there have been endless rumours about new “Back to the Future” films (at one stage there was talk of a TV movie prequel to the original film, as well as mumblings of a sequel that would’ve seen Doc Brown caught up in the Roswell ‘little men’ incident) none of them have came even close to happening. Think it’s safe to say we’re going to be saved from Justin Bieber traveling back to 1955 to put his parents Robert Downey Jr and Sandra Bullock back together.

Same goes for “E.T”, which director Steven Spielberg has also refused to let anyone touch. Years after he even abandoned his own plans to make a sequel to the film because he didn’t want to tarnish the beautifully made original.
