Basu boards Metal Gear Solid

Jay Basu, the in-demand Brit writer behind the recent “Monsters : Dark Continent” and upcoming feature “The Pier”, has been tapped to pen Sony’s “Metal Gear Solid” movie.

According to Deadline, Basu joins a team that includes Avi and Ari Arad, producers, and Jordan Vogt-Roberts (“The Kings Of Summer”), director.

The game, launched by Playstation, follows the mission of Solid Snake, a soldier who infiltrates a nuclear weapons facility to neutralize the terrorist threat from Foxhound, a renegade special forces unit. He also has to keep a couple of hostages out of harms way.

Basu was also recently hired by Universal to help relaunch their classic movie monsters – Frankenstein, The Wolf Man etc.
