“The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” has found its latest victor-tribute; E. Roger Mitchell has been cast Chaff, who hails from District 11, Lionsgate has announced.
Having won the 45th Annual Hunger Games, Chaff regarded as one of Haymitch Abernathy’s few friends; Katniss remembers that she has often seen television footage of them drinking together during the Hunger Games season each year. Chaff ultimately ends up being selected as District 11’s male victor-tribute for the 75th Annual Hunger Games.
Mitchell is an Atlanta-based actor whose stage and screen experience include “Battle: Los Angeles”, “One Tree Hill” and “House of Payne”.
Several more victor-tributes featured in “Catching Fire” have yet to be cast, including District 1’s female victor-tribute Cashmere; District 3’s super-intelligent inventor Beetee; District 4’s Finnick Odair; the morphling addicts from District 6; Blight from District 7; Cecelia from District 8 and Seeder from District 11. No doubt Lionsgate will release more casting news in the coming days.
“The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” is slated for release on November 22, 2013.
