Beauty and the Beast finds it’s Garderobe

“Private Practice” star Audra McDonald is in final talks to join Disney’s live-action “Beauty and the Beast” movie.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, McDonald will be playing Garderobe, the French word for wardrobe, in the Bill Condon (“Dreamgirls”) directed movie.

The actress joins Emma Watson as Belle, Dan Stevens as the Beast/Prince, Luke Evans as the villain Gaston, and Josh Gad as Le Fou, Gaston’s sidekick.

The film will be based largely on the 1991 Disney film, as opposed to the original source material.

Production begins in May at London’s Shepperton Studios.
