Seinfeld fave in talks for Force Majeure remake

“Veep” star Julia Louis-Dreyfus is in talks to star in and produce an English-language remake of Swedish drama “Force Majeure”, says THR.

The original, which swept the Oscars, tells of a family staying in a resort in the French Alps. An avalanche threatens the resort and the father, in an act of selfish cowardice, deserts his family. When the avalanche passes and the family is safely reunited, the man’s actions create a deep fissure in the unit that might not be repaired.

While Louis-Dreyfus is believed to be involved in a producing capacity, there’s no director or writer set.

Though best known for her comedy work (“Veep”, “Seinfeld”), Louis-Dreyfus won praise for her dramatic turn opposite James Gandolfini in 2013’s “Enough Said”.
