Astrid Berges-Frisbey, who played one of the mermaids in “Pirates of the Caribbean : On Stranger Tides”, will play [lady] Guinevere in Guy Ritchie’s “Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur” at Warner Bros. Pictures.
Guinevere is the lover of Arthur (Charlie Hunnam) who later trades him in for Lancelot.
Previous actresses to play Guinevere on screen include Keira Knightley, Julia Ormond, and Ava Gardner.
The Joby Harold-penned movie, also starring Idris Elba, is due for release July 22, 2016.
Meanwhile, “Rock n’ Rolla” and “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” star Toby Kebbell is in talks to play Messala in MGM’s “Ben-Hur” remake.
Kebbell would join Jack Huston, who has been cast in the title role, with Morgan Freeman playing Ildarin, the man who coaches the former to be a champion Chariot racer.
The Timur Bekmambetov-directed film is due for release February 26, 2016.
