Birds remake goes Dutch

According to THR, Universal’s remake of “The Birds” signed on Dutch director Diederik Van Rooijen and word is the revamp will borrow more from the original story by Daphne Du Maurier rather than Alfred Hitchcock’s take back in 1963. Even still, I can’t help but harbor a tiny bit of bitterness and eye-roll about Universal going up against the master of suspense.  Noami Watts dropped from the project so there’s still no word on who our modern day Tippi Hedren will be.  Let’s just hope Universal and the cast can live up to these enormously large shoes they have to fill.

Normally I don’t like to shit all over a project before I’ve seen it, but this is Hitchcock and you can’t mess with Hitchcock.
