Blade reboot snags Watchmen writer

Stacy Osei-Kuffour will pen Marvel’s “Blade” reboot starring Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the producers of the film – said to be tentatively titled “Blade, the Vampire Slayer” – were only considering black writers for the job.
Marvel has spent the last six months meeting with writers in what was described as a meticulous search with which Ali was directly involved. Only Black writers were seriously considered, a reflection of Marvel’s focus on diversity and making representation a key factor.
Osei-Kuffour is a playwright but also worked on HBO’s “Watchmen”.
