Brad Peyton to direct Dwayne Johnson in Rampage

Dwayne Johnson may be set to reteam with his “San Andreas” helmer Brad Peyton.

According to Deadline, Peyton is in talks to direct New Line’s video game film “Rampage”, with Johnson attached to star.

Peyton will also produce with “San Andreas” producer Beau Flynn and John Rickard. Jeff Fierson is executive producer.

The live-action film adapts the 1980s Midway Arcade game about three giant monsters (a gorilla, a lizard and a wolf) who wreak havoc on major cities and landmarks across North America. Johnson will play the man who stands in their way.

Ryan Engle penned the screenplay.

“Rampage” is scheduled to film next summer for a 2017 release.
