Brad Pitt to star in WWII Tank Movie Fury

Brad Pitt is set to star in David Ayer’s WWII movie “Fury”, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

QED is producing and financing the film – set in the “waning days” of WWII’s European theater, it fixes on a 5-man crew of an American tank named Fury that stumbles upon a desperate German division – which’ll be Ayer’s first up after this September’s “Ten” starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.

QED picked up the script on spec from Ayer (“Street Kings”, “Training Day”) in February. The filmmaker, who usually writes stories about crooked cops, is going for something different here – a movie not only about heroic ‘good people’, but soldiers rather than cops.

If Pitt signs – it likely means he’s definitely not playing Captain Nemo in David Fincher’s Oz-lensed “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea”, for one – it’ll path the way for some other notable notables to surround him as part of a cool credits block.
