Branagh to play Poirot!

Kenneth Branagh is set to star in and direct Fox’s “Murder on the Orient Express” remake, says Deadline.

The actor and filmmaker, who also pulled double duty on 2014’s “Jack Ryan : Shadow Recruit”, will play Hercule Poirot in the update of the Agatha Christie classic. Branagh produces alongside Ridley Scott, Simon Kinberg and Mark Gordon.

The story, published in 1934, sees detective Poirot investigating the passengers on a train after a murder takes place en route. It’s set during a terrible snowstorm, giving the yarn that extra special something-something.

Michael Green (‘Blade Runner 2”) will pen script.

Bard fave Branagh recently helmed Disney’s “Cinderella”.
