Breaking : Oscar Winner James Horner Dead

UPDATE: James Horner has been confirmed dead. He died on Monday in a plane crash. He was 61.

James Horner, the famed composer of such films as “Titanic” and “Avatar”, is feared dead after a plane he was on crashed near Santa Barbara on Monday.

The plane crashed near Ventucopa, about 60 miles north of Santa Barbara, where firefighters have found debris in the field but no survivors. Upon impact, the crash ignited a brush fire.

The pilot is believed dead; it’s not known whether Horner was flying. It is known however that Horner was an avid flyer and owned five airplanes.

Horner won two Oscars for “Titanic”, including one for best original song for “My Heart Will Go On”. His other credits include “Braveheart”, “The Amazing Spider-Man”, “The Spiderwick Chronicles”, “All the King’s Men”, “The Legend of Zorro”, and “Casper”.
