Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan are reuniting for a sequel to Disney’s Freaky Friday (2003)  with Elyse Hollander tapped to pen the script to the sequel. Monster Movie adds ‘Matilda’ star
Alisha Weir (Matilda the Musical) is joining Radio Silence’s untitled monster movie over at Universal. The actress joins Scream star Melissa Barrera in the project, which will be directed by Radio Silence’s Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. Radio Silence’s Chad Villella is producing alongside William Sherak, Paul Neinstein and James Vanderbilt of Project X Entertainment. Tripp Vinson is also producing. [More…]

Disney and Hulu apps to merge content
On Disney’s earnings call Wednesday, Disney CEO Bob Iger said the company will soon launch a “one-app experience” in the U.S. that incorporates Hulu content into Disney+. “While we will continue to offer Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+ as standalone options, this is a logical progression of our [direct-to-consumer] offerings that will provide greater opportunities for advertisers while giving bundle subscribers access to more robust and streamlined content, resulting in greater audience engagement and ultimately leading to a more unified streaming experience,” Iger said. “Good Omens” returns this summer
This summer, something’s going down in the up! Good Omens Season Two will premiere July 28 on Prime Video. After the global success and enthusiastic response to the first season, co-creator Neil Gaiman is satisfying fans’ hunger for more on-screen adventures of the beloved unholy duo with an entirely original story. Season Two of ”Good Omens” explores storylines that go beyond the original source material to illuminate the uncanny friendship between Aziraphale, a fussy angel and rare book dealer, and the fast-living demon Crowley. Having been on Earth since The Beginning, and with the Apocalypse thwarted, Aziraphale and Crowley are getting back to easy living amongst mortals in London’s Soho when an unexpected messenger presents a surprising mystery.

“Righteous Gemstones” trailer and release date reveal
Created, written, and executive produced by Danny McBride (HBO’s “Vice Principals” and “Eastbound & Down”), the first two episodes of the nine-episode third season of “The Righteous Gemstones” debuts SUNDAY, JUNE 18 (10:00-11:00 p.m. ET/PT) on HBO and will be available to stream on Max.

Schwarzenegger doc “Arnold” trailered
Netflix’s three part documentary “Arnold”, releasing June 7, chronicles never before seen footage & stories of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s journey from rural Austria to the highest echelons of the American dream. In the series, there’s unprecedented access to the most candid interviews from Schwarzenegger, his friends, foes, co-stars and observers. We see many talk about his days pumping iron to his triumphs in Hollywood, all the way to his time governing the state of California. The joys and the turbulence of his family life are unveiled in a tale that matches his larger-than-life persona.

The CW Summer Slate
The CW Network today unveiled its robust slate of original scripted and unscripted programming debuting on the network in Summer 2023.
The hilarious family comedy RUN THE BURBS from award-winning “Kim’s Convenience” breakout star Andrew Phung and featuring a talented and diverse ensemble cast, will make its U.S. debut on The CW later this summer. Critically-acclaimed dramedy MOONSHINE, about dysfunctional siblings battling for control of their family business also joins the network’s scripted slate. The fan-favorite legal drama FAMILY LAW starring Jewel Staite and Victor Garber returns for a second season, and comedy series BUMP will deliver even more laughs in its second season.
New summer unscripted programs include the four-part docuseries GREATEST GEEK YEAR EVER: 1982 chronicling a classic moviegoing year in pop culture, and the over the top extreme cooking competition RECIPE FOR DISASTER. Additionally, The CW will feature the broadcast television debut of DOWN TO EARTH WITH ZAC EFRON following the Emmy® winning actor’s travels around the world, and premiere new seasons of returning alternative series GREAT CHOCOLATE SHOWDOWN and MYSTERIES DECODED. Airdates and times for all these series will be announced at a later date.
These upcoming summer series are in addition to the previously announced new comedy SON OF A CRITCH and new dramas THE RISING, premiering Monday, May 29 (8:00-9:00pm ET/PT), and BARONS, also debuting Monday, May 29 (9:00-10:00pm ET/PT). And the fourth and final season of drama series NANCY DREW premieres on Wednesday, May 31 (8:00-9:00pm ET/PT) paired with the final season of RIVERDALE, with both series finales airing back-to-back on Wednesday, August 23.

“Vacation” on 4K
National Lampoon’s Vacation, directed by Harold Ramis and starring Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo as Clark and Ellen Griswold, will be released on Ultra HD Blu-ray and Digital on June 27. As Warner Bros celebrates its 100th anniversary, this film is highlighted as a studio gem on its 40th anniversary.

“God is a Bullet” Trailer
Patriot Pictures and XYZ Films have have released the trailer for Wayward Entertainment release “GOD IS A BULLET”, written and directed by critically-acclaimed director Nick Cassavetes, for a wide release exclusively in US theaters on June 23, 2023. The action thriller stars Maika Monroe, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Karl Glusman, January Jones, Paul Johansson, David Thornton and Jamie Foxx. The film will expand to a digital release in the US on July 11, 2023.

Apple TV+ releases “Stillwater” Season 3 Trailer
Apple TV+ today released the trailer for the third season of beloved hit “Stillwater,” premiering globally on Friday, May 19.

“Transformers” tickets go on sale + new featurette
Paramount Pictures today announced a special Early Access Fan Event screening to celebrate the theatrical release of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts opening nationwide exclusively in theatres. The Early Access Premiere will include one special showing on Wednesday, June 7 at 7PM local time at participating theatres across the country. In select locations, the Early Access show will be presented in a premium format including Dolby Cinema, 4DX and IMAX, in advance of the movie’s national release on Friday, June 9th.
