British hottie to play Sherlock’s apprentice Kitty Winter

Ophelia Lovibond is set to join the cast of CBS’ “Elementary”.

The role will be the British actress’ first on American television having acted in films and on British television in the past.

Lovibond will play Kitty Winter, the new apprentice of Sherlock Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) who immediately becomes a rival of her predecessor Joan Watson (Lucy Liu). Kitty’s reasons for undertaking Holmes’ partnership are nebulous, and her new arrangement with Holmes will have ongoing repercussions for his relationship with Joan.
“Elementary” will return on October 30 and you can also catch Lovibond in Marvel’s upcoming flick “Guardians of the Galaxy”.
