Brolin, Penn and Gosling locked and loaded for Gangster Squad

Warner Bros are in the midst of offering Sean Penn, Ryan Gosling and Josh Brolin lead roles in the highly-mooted crime drama “Gangster Squad”.

The flick, written by Will Beall and to be directed by “Zombieland” helmer Ruben Fleischer, is the tale of some real-life crime-fighters in the 1940’s who were charged with the task of taking down crooks.

Says Deadline:

The linchpin of the film is Los Angeles mobster Mickey Cohen, which is the role that Penn is in talks to play. Gosling and Brolin are in talks to play two cops assigned to bring him down when the gangster’s penchant for violence leaves the blood of innocents on the street.
