Warner Bros has paid handsomely for a Dan Fogelman (“Tangled”) pitch that will see Tom Cruise play a politician whose busted having an affair, according to Deadline. With his reputation in tatters, Cruise’s politician retreats to his hometown to lick his wounds, repair relationships and confront his past.

Fogelman’s latest film for WB, “Crazy Stupid Love”, which features an ensemble cast that includes Steve Carell, James Franco and Emma Stone, is getting great buzz so no surprise that the studio would want in on the up-and-comer’s next project.
