Brooke’s Top 5 Must See Movies of 2015

With so many fantastic movies coming out this year I’ve come to the realization that the only way I’m going to be able to see them all, without ending up purse-empty, is to either get a full-time job at Moviehole, marry Leonardo DiCaprio, or buy an AppleTV and get a Netflix account – and considering my lowly student/part-time worker income, I can’t afford one of those. So, Leo!? What do you say? I have a pool at my house?

I think it’s safe to say Moviehole’s Clint won’t agree with the list of films on my must-see list (well, maybe one) but I just can’t bring myself to be more interested in a new “Terminator” movie or something called “Ant-Man” over a romantic movie or a good comedy (though I’m happy to go! – love a movie!).

Here are the 10 films I’m going to see – rain, hail, or shine! – this year. Save me a seat!

1 Star Wars – The Force Awakens : Though I’ve only seen bits of the originals, I’m about to sit down and watch the entire trilogy over the next couple of weeks. They seem to embody all the elements of a great movie – fun characters, great special effects, and a good story (with a great twist!) – so I don’t think I’ll be disappointed! (well, only if Clint doesn’t ask me to attend this with him!)  Looking forward!

2 Fifty Shades of Grey : I think this is the film most girls really want to see this year.  It could be utterly horrible, and I’m already expecting it not to be a shade on the book, but the curiosity factor compels me.  And maybe I’ll learn a little something extra along the way!

3 The Duff : I’m not a big fan of the teen rom-com (and I’m constantly poking fun at my friends for going ballistic over really bad ones!) but this one looks great! I’ve watched the trailer a couple of times now, and it simply makes me want to see more! Plus I love Mae Whitman!

4 Focus : Will Smith and Margot Robbie play con-artists (he’s the veteran, she’s the newcomer to the game) who fall in love. But looks like there’s some kind of twist. This probably won’t be great, but it’s always been one I’ve been keen on seeing (since it was announced).

5 Pitch Perfect 2 :  I’m going to drink a few ‘cups’ before I head into this one… because it’s going to be such a wonderfully fun party inside the cinema! I’m not as confident about it, as I was the first, and that might have something to do with Elizabeth Banks directing (she’s an unproven entity) but I dare say it’ll still come close to being very good!

Hateful Eight : More cast, Production begins

Trailer : She’s Funny That Way
