Cailee Spaeny is set to star opposite John Boyega in Legendary’s “Pacific Rim 2”, reports Variety.
Scott Eastwood also stars in the sequel to the 2013 film. Steven S. DeKnight is directing.
We don’t have plot details yet or any info on Spaeny’s character. We do know that Boyega is on board to play the son of Idris Elba’s character from the first film which centred on a battle between humans and monsters that emerged from an interdimensional portal at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean.
Based on the world created by Guillermo del Toro and Travis Beacham, “Pacific Rim 2” will be produced by Thomas Tull, Mary Parent, Jon Jashni, and del Toro with Boyega and Femi Oguns of Upper Room Productions. Cale Boyter will exec produce.
