Carell’s North Korea movie cancelled

In the wake of today’s events regarding “The Interview” – and, in particular, new information suggesting North Korea was behind it’s stoppage – an upcoming Steve Carell-set thriller, based in North Korea, has been put on ice.

The untitled film, which was to have been directed by “Pirates of the Caribbean” helmer Gore Verbinski, was set up at New Regency.

Considering what happened to Sony’s “The Interview”, the shingle, Carell, and Verbinski all agreed this isn’t the film to make at this given time.

The paranoid thriller was due to begin lensing in March.
