And an Aussie actor is Sparkie!
I just watched “We are Marshall”. Can’t say I loved the movie, but I will say I liked Matthew Fox’s performance in it. How far was that guy come since playing shaggy-haired Charlie on “Party of Five”? It’s absolutely amazing. His role as Jack – a part originally reserved for Michael Keaton – on “Lost” has been his golden ticket. Its already snagged him several film roles – he recently played a small role in Joe Carnahan’s “Smokin’ Aces”, and next appears with Dennis Quaid in the thriller “Vantage Point” – and word from IESB is that he’s just booked another… and it’s a goodie too.
The actor will play the role of ‘Racer X’ – a part originally being eyeballed by Vince Vaughn – in Warner’s “Speed Racer”.
Great score for him.
The same can be said for Aussie actor Kick Gurry – remember him from “Looking for Alibrandi” and “Garage Days”? – who looks set to play the role of ‘Sparkie’ in the film. Gurry’s going great-guns in the states; he also recently wrapped a role in the new David Lynch pic “Inland Empire”.
