Marwan Kenzari has joined Tom Cruise, Sofia Boutella and Annabelle Wallis in the cast of Universal’s “The Mummy” reboot.

The reboot is set in the present day and features a female Mummy (played by Boutella).

Set for release on June 9, 2017, the film is directed by Alex Kurtzman from a script by Jon Spaihts.

Patrick Warburton has come on board Netflix’s adaptation of “Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events”.

Warberton will fill the role of narrator Lemony Snicket opposite Neil Patrick Harris, Malina Weissman and Louis Hynes in the eight-episode series.

Based on the book series, “Lemony Snicket’s a Series of Unfortunate Events” centres on orphaned children Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire, who are placed into the custody of their villainous uncle Count Olaf who tries to steal their parents’ fortune.

Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill will reprise their roles as Batman and the Joker, respectively, for Warner Bros. Animation’s adaptation of “The Killing Joke”.

Tara Strong is also on board to voice Barbara Gordon (aka Batgirl) along with Ray Wise, who plays Commissioner Gordon.

“Written by Alan Moore and illustrated by Brian Bolland, “The Killing Joke” is one of the most iconic and acclaimed Joker stories ever published, along with one of the most controversial, primarily stemming from its depiction of brutal violence against Barbara Gordon” (via CBR).

Justin Cornwell will star with Bill Paxton in CBS’ “Training Day” pilot.

The present-day reimagining of Antoine Fuqua’s 2001 feature is set 15 years after the events of the original film and follows “a bright, gung-ho, idealistic young African-American police officer, Kyle Craig (Cornwell), who is appointed to an elite squad of the LAPD where he is partnered with seasoned, morally ambiguous detective Frank Rourke (Paxton)” (via Deadline).

Written by Will Beall and directed by Danny Cannon, Drew Van Acker, Katrina Law, Lex Scott Davis and Julie Benz co-star.

Peter Gallagher will join Sarah Michelle Gellar as a series regular in NBC’s “Cruel Intentions” pilot.

Gellar is attached to reprise her role as Kathryn Merteuil in the TV adaptation of the ’90s film.

According to Variety, “NBC’s “Cruel Intentions” kicks off 15 years after the film ended, centering around Gellar’s all-grown-up Kathryn, as she vies for control of Valmont International as well as the soul of Bash Casey (newcomer Taylor John Smith), the son of the late Sebastian Valmont (the character that was played by Ryan Phillippe in the original film) and Annette Hargrove (the character played by Reese Witherspoon). Upon discovering his late father’s legacy in a hidden journal, Bash is introduced to a world of sex, money, power and corruption he never could have imagined.

Gallagher will play Edward Valmont, the father of the late Sebastian (Phillippe), who is described as a sexy, beguiling, sophisticated, powerful and ruthless billionaire hotel magnate with fingers in many far-reaching financial pies — some legal, some not so much. Edward is delighted to discover that he’s got a long-lost grandson in the newly arrived Bash Casey, and once the DNA test proves his claim, Edward immediately starts grooming Bash for a life of impossible wealth and opportunity.”

Chris Noth is joining the third season of “Tyrant”.

Noth will play U.S. General William Cogswell, who was “summarily transferred out of Abbudin and returns to that country when Barry Al-Fayeed (Adam Rayner) assumes the provisional presidency. Although he initially offers American support, General Cogswell will rise to power as his romantic history with Leila (Moran Atias) reignites, and as his apparent — and hidden — idiosyncrasies are revealed.”
