Scott Shepherd will play the deputy director of the CIA in the next “Bourne” film.

He joins Matt Damon, Julia Stiles, Alicia Vikander, Vincent Cassel and Tommy Lee Jones in the cast. Paul Greengrass is on board to direct from a script he’s writing with Christopher Rouse.

Production is under way in Budapest for a July 29 release date.

 

 

Holt McCallany and Austin Hebert have joined Tom Cruise starer “Jack Reacher: Never Go Back”.

Cobie Smulders, Danika Yarosh, Aldis Hodge and Patrick Heusinger co-star in film which is being directed by Ed Zwick.

Production is taking place in New Orleans.

 

 

Dacre Montgomery will play the Red Ranger in Lionsgate’s “Power Rangers” film.

He joins Naomi Scott who will play the Pink Ranger in the film which is described as ‘a modern reinvention’ of the long-running franchise about a group of ordinary high school kids who find themselves infused with extraterrestrial powers and must harness those powers as a team to save the world.

 Zack Stentz and Ashley Miller penned the script from which Dean Israelite will direct. “Power Rangers” will open on January 13, 2017.

 

 

Jon Hamm is set to join Ansel Elgort, Lily James and Jamie Foxx in “Baby Driver”.

Edgar Wright is writing and directing the film about “a young, talented getaway driver who relies on the beat of his personal soundtrack to be the best. After being coerced into working for a crime boss, he must face the music when a doomed heist threatens his life, love and freedom” (via Variety).

“Baby Driver” will release on March 17, 2017.

 

 

Chris Cooper has joined writer/director Ben Affleck’s “Live by Night”, reports Variety.

The adaptation of Dennis Lehane’s Prohibition-set dramatic novel looks at the world of organized crime.

Chris Messina, Elle Fanning, Sienna Miller, Zoe Saldana and Affleck star. Producers are Affleck & Jennifer Todd of Pearl Street, and Leonardo DiCaprio & Jennifer Davisson Killoran of Appian Way.

 

 

Haley Bennett is in talks to join Miles Teller in Dreamworks’ “Thank You for Your Service”.

Described as a post-traumatic stress disorder drama, the film is based on David Finkel’s 2013 book “which followed up the home-front struggles of the battalion chronicled in Finkel’s “The Good Soldiers” during a 15-month tour of Baghdad during the surge of 2007-08” (via Variety).

“American Sniper” screenwriter Jason Hall is directing from his own script.

 

 

Chanel Celaya will join Ice Cube, Charlie Day, Christina Hendricks, Tracy Morgan, Jillian Bell and Dean Norrishas in New Line’s comedy “Fist Fight”.

Richie Keen is directing the film about “two teachers (Cube and Day) who work in a broken-down school system and wind up in a fist fight with each other” (via Variety).

Celaya will play Katie, a fellow teacher at the school.

 

 

Skyler Gisondo (“Vacation”) has landed a role in “Godmother”.

Catherine Zeta Jones stars in the film as the late drug kingpin Griselda Blanco, with Gisondo on board to play an ambitious frat boy who gets in over his head within the cocaine trade.

Olivier Martinez, John Leguizamo and Jordi Molla co-star in the film from director Gerard Johnson.

 

 

Genesis Rodriguez will star opposite Kevin James in the Netflix comedy feature “True Memoirs of an International Assassin”.

Jeff Wadlow is directing from Jeff Morris’s script about an accountant (James) who is “mistaken for an assassin when a novel he’s writing is accidentally published as nonfiction, forcing him to flee to Belize. Rodriguez will play a DEA agent who rescues Kevin’s character from his drug dealer captors, blowing her cover in the process” (via Variety).
