Casting: Pfeiffer, Nivola, Benoist, Heughan, Stults, Worthington, Wilson, Boutella, Rajskub, White, Maestro

Michelle Pfeiffer and Alessandro Nivola will join Robert De Niro in director Barry Levinson’s “Wizard of Lies.”

De Niro stars as disgraced financier Bernie Madoff in the film which will “look behind the scenes at the former investment adviser’s massive Ponzi scheme — including how it was perpetrated on the public and the trail of destruction it left in its wake, both for the victims and his own family” (via Vairety).

Pfeiffer will play his wife, Ruth Madoff and Nivola will play his older son Mark Madoff, who committed suicide.

“Supergirl” star Melissa Benoist and “Outlander” star Sam Heughan are set to star in Screen Gem’s romantic drama “Oxford”.

“Soon after arriving at Oxford U, an American Rhodes Scholar student falls for an arrogant teaching assistant who is quietly fighting terminal cancer. When she finds out the reason he is so standoffish, they make the most of each day, traveling the world together” (via Deadline).

Allison Burnett penned the script. Temple Hill’s Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey are producing.

Geoff Stults will star opposite Katherine Heigl and Rosario Dawson in “Unforgettable”, Warner Bros’ thriller from first-time director Denise Di Novi.

Christina Hodson wrote the script about Tessa Connover (Heigl), who is barely coping with the end of her marriage when her ex-husband David (Stults) becomes happily engaged to Julia Banks (Dawson). Not only does he bring Julia into the home he once shared with Tessa, but he also brings her into the life of their daughter, Lilly (Isabella Rice). Tessa’s jealousy soon takes a pathological turn until she will stop at nothing to turn Julia’s dream into her ultimate nightmare.

Production is currently under way.

Sam Worthington, Ruth Wilson and Sofia Boutella will star in sci-fi adventurer “The Titan”.

Production is set to kick off in Europe in January with Lennart Ruff directing from Max Hurwitz’s script.

Based on a story by Arash Amel, the film will follow a military family that relocates to take part in a ground-breaking experiment about genetic evolution in space.

Mary Lynn Rajskub (“24”) will guest star in an episode of “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”.

She will play an art gallery owner and infatuation of Charles (Joe Lo Truglio).

Bill Hader has also got a guest starring role as the precinct’s new captain.

“Brooklyn Nine-Nine” will premiere on Fox on September 27.

Betty White has booked a role in an episode of “Bones”, scheduled to air in October.

White will play a “sharp as a tack, absolutely fabulous ‘squintern’” who has a passion for fantasy football, a subject which is related to the crime in question.

“Bones” will return to Fox on October 1.

Mia Maestro (“The Strain”) has joined season five of ABC’s hit show “Scandal” in a major recurring role.

The news comes via Deadline, but the ABC is remaining secretive about Maestro’s role and, as yet, we don’t have any character details or info about the number of episodes she’ll appear in.

“Scandal” returns to TV on September 24.
