Comedy fave Paul Reiser (“Mad About You”, “One Night at McCools”) has joined the cast of the horror comedy “Life After Beth”. The Jeff Baena written/directed film stars Dane DeHaan ”as a young man who struggles to continue his relationship with his girlfriend Beth, being played by Aubrey Plaza, after she resurrects from the dead.” Reiser will play DeHaan’s father. Chloe Moretz will star in the film adaptation of Gayle Foreman’s book “If I Stay”. The picture will tell of “a teenager (Moretz) who is in a coma after a car wreck that decimates her family. She has an out-of-body experience in the hospital and is faced with the choice between continuing what will be a difficult life or simply giving up.” (Deadline)

Sharlto Copley (“Oldboy”) will star in “Hardcore,” “an inventive first-person POV action movie” that will be written and directed by Ilya Naishuller and produced by Timur Bekmambetov. (The Wrap)

“Sin City” star Carla Gugino has joined the cast of the Fox mini-series “Wayward Pines” for M.Night Shyamalan. “She will play Kate Hewson — former love interests of Matt Dillon‘s Secret Service agent Ethan Burke. Kate is also Ethan’s former partner at the Secret Service and a resident of bucolic Wayward Pines, ID, where Ethan shows up on a job to find two missing federal agents.” (Deadline)

“Shameless” star Zach McGowan has joined Universal’s “Dracula: Year Zero”. In the Gary Shore directed movie, he plays Shkelgim, a gypsy chief, opposite Luke Evans’ Prince Vlad. (Deadline)
